West Virginia University’s Culinary Creations serves free samples of their watermelon salad in front of the Mountainlair on Wednesday.  The ingredients used in the salad were fresh, local ingredients from the farmer’s market also set up in front of the Mountainlair.

Mountaineer Jonathan Kimble led the West Virginia football team out of the tunnel for the first time Saturday afternoon when the Mountaineers took on Marshall. Kimble did a total of 375 pushups saturday in the game as a result of West Virginia beating Marshall by a score of 69-34.

A volleyball program record of 3,112 fans watched the Mountaineers take on No. 2 Texas in West Virginia’s first Big 12 Conference event yesterday in the Coliseum. Texas defeated WVU in straight sets, 25-15, 25-18 and 25-16.

‘Sprint, Splash and Spin’ took place Saturday in Marilla Park for Habitat for Humanity. Contestants ran, swam and biked to the finish line to raise money for the home-building charity.
